The official spokesman of the Houthi group “Ansar Allah”, Mohammed Abdul Salam, stated that communication is continuing with international parties regarding the operations of the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea, and stressed that Yemen’s position with Gaza is consistent and is not subject to any compromise.

Yemeni assertions in this regard have been repeated in more than one meeting, Abdul Salam said, adding that “we cannot stand idly by”.

Abdul Salam pointed to the presence of Omani mediation with the Houthis over Ansar Allah’s operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

He posted on his social media account: “Under the auspices of our brothers in the Sultanate of Oman, communication and discussion continue with a number of international parties regarding the Red Sea and Arabian Sea operations.”

Abdul Salam had statements a few days ago in this regard when he talked about receiving some calls following the Yemeni naval forces’ operations in the Red Sea and the Arab Sea and said: “We received calls from active countries confirming their support for the ceasefire in Gaza, and their commitment to work to bring humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.”

Earlier on Saturday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that a US Navy destroyer engaged and shot down 14 drones launched from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.
