A report by the Israeli newspaper “Globas” revealed that Egypt has a huge and unprecedented number of armored vehicles and tanks, many times more than what Israel has.
Data from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) for 2024 showed that Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Iran are among the 15 countries with the largest number of tanks and armored vehicles in the world, while Israel does not have armoured sizes comparable to them.
Dean Shmuel Elmz, military affairs editor of the Hebrew newspaper, said Turkey tops the ranking in the eastern Mediterranean with 11,702 armored vehicles (including 2,378 tanks), while in the world ranking it is in fourth place, after the United States, Russia, and China.
Egypt ranks fifth behind Turkey in the world rankings with 10,389 armored vehicles, including 2,480 tanks.
Saudi Arabia ranked eighth in the world with 7,227, including 1,085 tanks, while the list of the world’s top 15 countries closes Iran with 2,878 armored vehicles, but it is ahead of Saudi Arabia in the number of tanks with 1,513 tanks.
