Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that terrorist attacks in different countries are not only caused by extremists but also by the competent agencies.
President Putin noted that terrorism remains one of the most serious threats of the twenty-first century, stressing that terrorist attacks are behind not only extremist groups, but also intelligence services in some countries, undermining constitutional foundations, destabilizing sovereign States, and inciting inter-ethnic and interreligious hatred.
Putin explained that the methods of criminals have become “more artistic and barbaric”, which was demonstrated again during the bloody terrorist attack that targeted the “Crocos” hall on the outskirts of Moscow on March 22.
The Russian president stressed that all the perpetrators, masterminds, and organizers of the terrorist attack on the Crocos Hall on the outskirts of Moscow last month must be identified and punished so that “no one goes unpunished.”
President Putin’s statement came in a video address to participants in the 12th International Meeting of High-Level Security Representatives, which kicked off in St. Petersburg under the auspices of the Russian Security Council on Wednesday.
The Russian president also noted the paramount importance of protecting the information sphere from threats to ensure national security and economic development, stressing Moscow’s readiness to cooperate closely in order to ensure global and regional security with all interested partners.
