The Libyan National Unity Government, which has ended its mandate, announced that the ceiling of funds allowed to be carried when traveling to Tunisia has been set at $1,700, equivalent to five thousand Tunisian dinars.
The “Our Government” platform of the unity government on Facebook explained that any amount exceeding five thousand Tunisian dinars will be subject to the procedures followed in accordance with Tunisian laws and regulations.
The platform confirmed the traveler’s right to withdraw any financial value transferred through banking and financial channels recognized by the Tunisian authorities.
In a related context, Major General Faisal Bernous, Director of the Traffic and Licensing Affairs Department at the Libyan Ministry of Interior, stressed preventing the crossing of any vehicle through land crossings that violates the conditions of traffic safety and security in accordance with the legislation and laws of the Libyan and Tunisian countries.
Bernous called on citizens to adhere to the regulations and laws in force when moving between Libya and Tunisia, to preserve the safety of everyone and ensure smooth movement between the two countries.
Regarding the border crossings, the Ministry of the Interior of the National Unity Government, with the end of its mandate, announced that the date of opening the Ras Jadir border crossing for citizen travel has been postponed until next Monday, corresponding to June 24.
