Abdel Moneim al-Orfi, a member of the Libyan House of Representatives, announced that all candidates for the presidency of the new government received their recommendations required by the State Council with 20 recommendations for each candidate.
In statements to the media, Al-Orfi explained that the number of candidates reached 5 candidates, and that the House of Representatives will discuss on Tuesday the process of forming the new government, based on the statements of Aguila Saleh, the speaker of the Council.
Al-Orfi also pointed to a consensus between the Council and the State Council on the formation of the government, with a session scheduled to discuss the budget proposal submitted by the Libyan government.
Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives, confirmed that the general presidential elections in Libya will be held before the end of 2024, and that preparations are underway for this event, stressing the readiness of the High National Elections Commission.
