Egyptian club Zamalek is facing a major crisis that threatens its participation in the African Confederation Championship for next season, as a result of problems related to player registration.

Ahmed Diab, President of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, announced that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) had issued a decision prohibiting any club suffering from problems in registering players from participating in African tournaments, and stressed the need for Zamalek to resolve this crisis before June 30.

Zamalek was subjected to a three-period suspension due to complaints filed against it by its former Moroccan player Khaled Boutayeb and former Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco.

This situation places great pressure on the club to find quick solutions before the deadline expires.

Zamalek Club announced its refusal to play Egyptian Premier League matches, especially the second-round matches, until all clubs finish the first round matches.

This decision highlights additional tension in the Egyptian football scene, with a possible confrontation with Al-Ahly, as Ahmed Diab indicated that the party that will not attend the match will bear the financial losses resulting from not holding the match.
