Mohamed Moazab, a member of the State Advisory Council and a member of the Libyan General Congress since 2012, said that the visit of Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh to Turkey did not achieve the desired results.
Especially with regard to the formation of a new Libyan government, as this matter is not a decision for Turkey or any other regional country, but rather depends on the vision of the UN mission to resolve the political crisis.
Moazeb predicted in a statement to the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” that the Turkish response may be clear to Saleh’s request in this issue, which is to support the path of the solution proposed by the UN mission, highlighting that Saleh and his council do not want a new government to manage the elections as they say, but to launch a new transitional phase that may last about two years.
He based his proposal on the existence of opposition to the election laws that were rushed by the Libyan parliament in early October, as they allow the candidacy of Khalifa Haftar, commander-in-chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, for the presidency, regardless of the objections of others and the mission to some of their provisions.
