A Lebanese series that won the admiration of audiences (A’Amal) presented a strong message on the issues of violence against women and honor crimes, prompting activists and officials to take serious steps to combat this violence.

  1. The Lebanese association “KAFA”, in cooperation with MP Paula Yacoubian and other MPs, adopted a legal initiative to combat violence against women.

The association’s adoption of this step came in response to the audience’s interaction with the themes of the series, which dealt with real stories of violence against women in the absence of deterrent legislation.

Written by Nadine Jaber and produced by “Eagle Films”, the series stars Maggie Bou Ghosn, a media actor, who has been subjected to violence and attempted murder under the name of “honor killing”.

Actress Maggie Bou Ghosn expressed her appreciation for the adoption of the proposed law, noting the importance of turning drama into a platform for awareness and social impact.

In this context, writer Nadine Jaber praised the close cooperation between artists, MPs, and women’s organizations, expressing her hope that the law will be advanced as soon as possible to protect women from violence and achieve justice.

According to the National News Agency, the “KAFA” initiative comes after an extensive study of existing legislation, with the aim of providing the necessary protection and support to women victims of violence, guaranteeing their rights, and providing them with the necessary services.
