Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received in Riyadh on Tuesday Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

During the meeting with Zelensky, bin Salman discussed Saudi Arabia’s mediation in the prisoner exchange file and reviewed the latest developments and developments in the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.

The Saudi Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and support for all international efforts to resolve the crisis and achieve peace, while stressing the continuation of efforts to contribute to mitigating the humanitarian effects of the crisis.

For his part, Ukrainian President Zelensky published on the “X” platform, that he arrived in Saudi Arabia to meet with the Saudi crown prince, noting that the negotiations will focus on the peace formula proposed by Kiev to stop the war and the return of prisoners detained by Moscow, which witnessed facilitation by Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia has organized an airlift to relief Ukraine, and these efforts have been accelerating over the past weeks.

Riyadh has already expressed its willingness to mediate between the conflicting parties since the start of the conflict in Ukraine two years ago.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received in Riyadh on Monday the speaker of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.

Bloomberg revealed earlier, citing informed sources, that a secret meeting was held in Riyadh between Ukrainian and Western officials on December 16, on “the peace formula put forward by Vladimir Zelensky,” and that the meeting failed to reach any results.
