The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Monday expressed regret over a mistaken clash between their members and members of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA).
The Rapid Support Forces described the clash as the result of an unintentional mistake, due to the lack of communication and field coordination between the two parties and added in a statement on the “X” platform, that the situation was contained and apologized.
The Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), led by Abdul Wahid Mohamed Nur, said a Rapid Support Force (RSF) on Saturday attacked a group of its forces, killing and wounding a number of its members.
It explained that its elements moved on a mission from Dar Meidob and passed through the city of Melit and was attacked by a rapid support force at the entrance to the city of Fasher.
For their part, the Rapid Support Forces said they had detected movements in an area north of the Darfur city of El Fasher, the route used by the Sudanese army to supply the besieged Sixth Division.
The statement added that a clash took place with the force, which later turned out to be affiliated with the Sudan Liberation Movement and was on its way to the areas controlled by the movement, and the clash resulted in loss of life on both sides.
The movement has opted for neutrality in the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), but recently announced that it would go to war alongside the army.
