The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan government-designate, Abdulhadi Al-Hawij, received an official delegation from the African Union at the government headquarters in Benghazi on Tuesday.

The visiting delegation included Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Claude Gakosso, who represents the Chairperson of the AU High-Level Commission, along with a number of AU officials.

The meeting discussed ways to revive and revive the path of comprehensive national reconciliation in Libya, which is not based on dominance, and the importance of developing a special vision for this process in line with the demands of all parties.

Al-Huwaij stressed that the African Union enjoys the confidence of the various Libyan parties, praising its efforts in trying to achieve this important and necessary entitlement towards the establishment of the state of law and institutions, and the state of human rights and public freedoms.

Al-Huwaij pointed out that the Libyan government, headed by Osama Hammad, has taken upon itself since the beginning of its work the national reconciliation project as an important national project, in addition to reconstruction within the framework of economic interests and the fair distribution of wealth and resources and development to various Libyan regions and cities.

The delegation’s two-day visit aims to discuss the most important issues related to African affairs, the Libyan file, and regional issues in general.
