The Libyan Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Libyan Women’s Union, is organizing on Tuesday the Libyan Women’s Championship at the headquarters of the Olympic Academy in the capital, Tripoli.
The tournament will run until February 29 and will be held according to the Swiss system, with seven rounds and a specific time for each round of 60 minutes, in addition to an additional ten seconds on each transfer.
This tournament comes within the framework of developing and supporting the game in Libya, as it will contribute to the selection of the national chess team in the women’s category that will represent the country in the upcoming international competitions.
The organization of this tournament reflects the continuous efforts made by the Federation to enhance the participation of female players and develop the level of chess in the country.
