The International Space Station conducted a delicate maneuver to adjust its orbit in cooperation with the Russian space agency “Roscosmos”.
The operation took place in the early hours of Friday morning, using the engines of the Progress MS-26 spacecraft and the Zvezda module to raise the station’s orbit by one kilometer, reaching an altitude of 414.8 kilometers above the ground.
The engines started operating at 05:35 Moscow time and lasted for 403.2 seconds.
This step is considered to keep the station within its strategic orbit and reflects international cooperation in the field of space.
The station currently has an international crew that includes cosmonauts from Russia and the United States, who are carrying out multiple missions that contribute to expanding the boundaries of human knowledge and space exploration.
The ISS maintains an average altitude of 400 kilometers (250 miles) and is a science laboratory that many countries use in collaboration for scientific research, space experiments, and technology development.
