Morocco drew with DR Congo in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage. In the first moments of the match, Morocco showed a strong face, exerting great pressure and controlling the ball almost completely.

The pressure in the second minute resulted in a goal scored by Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi after a corner by Ziyech.

In the 41st minute, the referee whistled a penalty in favor of Congo after a strong intervention by salts against the player Bongunda and a serious injury at the level of the head, but the player Bakambu missed it after the ball hit the right post from Bono’s goal, to keep the result until the end of the first half a goal to none.

But Congo came back strongly in the second half, pressing occasionally, until they had a chance to take it easily, and Stuttgart’s German substitute striker Katoomba Mvumba Silas equalized in the 76th minute.

Congo almost achieved a surprise in the 78th minute through Elijah, and emerged victorious from the confrontation, but Hakimi cleared the ball, then in the 90th minute with a powerful shot by Maiele from inside the area, Bono tipped it out for a corner.

The Lions failed to come out with a victory from this meeting, postponed the decision in qualifying for the next round, as they had to win the match to book the price card, but strengthened their lead in the group with four points, while the Democratic Republic of Congo earned its second point after drawing with Zambia 1-1 also in the first round.
