Bayern Munich announced on Tuesday the death of German legend Andreas Brehm, at the age of 63, one of the stars of the former “Bavarian” team and is famous for scoring the goal of crowning the 1990 World Cup title with the “Mannchaft” team.

The official statement of the “Bavarian “club read: “Andreas Brehm will remain in our hearts forever, as a World Cup champion and, most importantly, as a very special person, who will forever be part of the Bayern Munich family.”

Bremme’s wife, Susan Schäfer, told dpa news agency: “It is with deep sadness that I announce on behalf of the family that my husband Andreas Brehme died suddenly and unexpectedly overnight after a cardiac arrest”.

Brehm is considered one of the legends of German football, as he scored the goal of crowning his country (West Germany at the time) with the 1990 World Cup title, from the penalty kick against Argentina in the final match of the World Cup at the “Olympic” stadium in Rome.
