The parliament-mandated government of Osama Hammad has pledged to develop the management of desert patrols and strengthen security in border areas, days before two events on migration planned by the government to organize later this month and in February.

The Minister of Interior in the government mandated by the House of Representatives, Major General Essam Abu Zriba, held a meeting with the head of the Criminal Investigation Service, Major General Salah Howeidi, and the director of the General Department of Desert Patrols, Major General Salah Al-Khafifi.

The government said on its Facebook page that the meeting, which was held in Benghazi, was devoted to reviewing efforts to develop and improve the performance of the desert patrol department, enhance its capabilities, and equip it with the latest technologies and equipment.
