The President of the African Commission, Moussa Faki, expressed his deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Sudan, classifying it as the worst global humanitarian crisis currently.

In a report submitted by Faki at the African Peace and Security Council summit, he warned of the possibility of imminent genocide as a result of the continuation of the conflict.

Faki called on the international community to exert intense pressure on external parties that are fueling the conflict by supplying weapons, stressing the seriousness of the situation that threatens the lives of millions.

The American envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, stated that the war that broke out on April 15 of last year between the armed forces led by Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Hemedti, caused the deaths of up to 150,000 people.

While the United Nations indicated that about 10 million people have been displaced internally and externally since the beginning of the clashes, which led to the massive destruction of infrastructure and threatened the country’s population with famine.
