Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced the formation of committees to investigate violations in Gezira State, where a civilian administration has been formed to protect civilians and provide essential services.

A RSF attack on several villages in the state has left dozens dead and wounded, according to reports by local rights groups.

In its statement, the Emergency Advocates initiative confirmed that the RSF used live ammunition against unarmed residents, accusing it of committing numerous violations including sexual assault, forced displacement, looting and looting.

Sudanese political parties and civil society organizations condemned what they described as violations by the Rapid Support Forces, calling on them to abide by their pledge to protect civilians in areas they control.

Members of the British parliament warned against the use of food as a weapon in the Sudanese civil war, pointing to a report revealing the destruction of a large number of villages in western Sudan, describing what is happening as bearing the hallmarks of ethnic cleansing.

According to the Armed Conflict Location and Events Data Project, at least 13,900 people have been killed since the war erupted in Sudan between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April.
