The Preliminary Committee of Sudan Doctor’s Trade Union issued an urgent appeal to all international and regional humanitarian organizations for immediate intervention in Wad Madani and Gezira State following capture of the city and other villages in the State by the Rapid Support Forces last week.
The city has experienced a catastrophic situation following the entry of the Rapid Support Forces, all health facilities are now out of service, with hospitals and pharmacies, both governmental and private, being attacked, looted and completely destroyed, the Preliminary Sudan Doctor’s Trade Union said in the appeal.
The city and its surrounding areas have been violated, with the tragic situation worsening by the hour including looting, fear of subjection of women and girls to sexual assaults and prevention of most citizens from leaving the city in search of safety, the Committee added.
