During the arrests, security forces arrested a vehicle, which the defendants are believed to have used to facilitate their terrorist activities.

Somaliland authorities have begun deploying military and artillery forces on the outskirts of Og in the eastern Sool region.

The move comes as “tensions with the forces of the Supreme Security Committee-Khatumo escalate, with the possibility of war looming,” Grey Online said.

The situation has been tense since Somaliland forces were defeated and withdrawn from the area by the Supreme Security Committee-Khatumo on August 25, 2023.

“The deployment of troops and artillery indicates that Somaliland is taking a more aggressive stance in the ongoing conflict with the SSC forces in Khatmo,” the website said.
