Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud stated in an interview with CNN that relations with Israel cannot be normalized until a long-term solution to the Palestinian issue is reached.

In response to a question about the inability to establish normal relations without a path leading to a viable Palestinian state, the Saudi minister said: “Yes, this is the only way to achieve this, because we need stability, and stability will only be achieved through the solution of the Palestinian issue.”

“For the region to experience genuine peace and stability, and genuine integration that brings economic and social benefits to all of us, including Israel, it is necessary to conduct a credible and irreversible process for the establishment of the State of Palestine,” the minister stressed.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has previously assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will not accept a deal to normalize relations in isolation from the two-state solution.
