Russia’s Mira Andreeva achieved the first victory of her career against one of the top ten players in the world rankings, beating sixth seed Anas Jaber of Tunisia with two clean sets at the Australian Open.
The 16-year-old Russian Andreeva, ranked 47 in the world, succeeded in taking advantage of five of the seven points to break serve while scoring 13 successful strokes to achieve a stunning victory over Jaber, 29, in two sets for nothing, 6-0 and 6-2 respectively, in just 54 minutes, to qualify for the third round of the Australian Open tennis tournament, while Jaber said goodbye to the tournament from the second round.
