The Russian Armed Forces announced the start of using new “Piranha-13” drones, designed to overcome the challenges of electronic warfare.
These aircraft are distinguished by their ability to overcome any interference caused by enemy electronic equipment. They are equipped with the latest technologies to enhance the effectiveness of military operations.
Reports published by the Russian newspaper “Izvestia” indicated that selected units of these aircraft were handed over to the army, and they were actually used in attacks against Ukrainian military sites.
The practical performance of the “Piranha-13” aircraft demonstrates its ability to achieve its goals with extreme accuracy, which enhances its efficiency on the battlefield.
The director of the organization that developed these aircraft confirmed that the “Piranha-13” plane is equipped with eight engines that allow it to carry a load weighing up to 8 kilograms and can fly a distance of up to 30 kilometers.
It is equipped with advanced surveillance cameras and easily replaceable batteries, which facilitates its use in multiple missions such as reconnaissance, monitoring enemy drones, and carrying out precision strikes.
The Russian army used a variety of drones in its military operations, such as the “Orlan” drone, in electronic warfare to silence communications, escort convoys, direct cannons, and strike enemy positions.
The army also relied on the “Forpost” and “Zastava” drones on the battlefield for reconnaissance purposes and the protection of important facilities, and on the Altius-O and Orion, which can remain in the air. For 48 hours and covering a distance of 10 kilometers, “Orion” is used to form swarms, each of which includes 3-6 drones, and each drone can carry 4 missiles.
