Russia is considering establishing ports to regulate the flow of goods with African countries, in particular in Algeria, Egypt, Tanzania and Senegal.
Roman Chekushov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation in the Field of Foreign Trade of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, made the announcement during his participation in an industrial exhibition in Uzbekistan.
Chekoshov explained that there are several future projects in Africa that are being studied, including the establishment of ports to regulate the entry and flow of Russian products.
The Russian official added that the establishment of a port is being discussed in Tanzania, for example, on the eastern side of Africa, in Senegal on the western side, in addition to Algeria and Egypt in the northern part.
Last year, Russian shipping and transport giant ‘FESCO’ launched a direct container shipping line between Russia and Egypt, predicting that Egypt will become a hub for shipments to and from Russia due to its strategically important location.
