The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that it had destroyed five Ukrainian “Su-27” fighters and damaged two other aircraft using “Iskander-M” missiles.

The Ministry published a video clip documenting the process of destroying the hangars of Ukrainian combat forces’ aircraft at Mirgorod Airport in the Poltava region.

The ministry explained in its statement that as a result of the strike launched by the Russian army, 5 “Su-27” multi-role fighters were destroyed, and two fighter planes were damaged, which were undergoing repairs.

This strike comes as part of a series of attacks in which Russia targets Ukrainian airports, while Kiev prepares to receive American F-16 fighters, which Moscow has pledged to destroy.
