Algerian Riyad Mahrez, player of Al-Ahli Jeddah Club, sent a series of strong messages after his team lost to hosts Riyadh (1-2), in the Saudi “Roshan” professional league.

Mahrez said, in remarks on the channel “SSC” Saudi Arabia: “Losing to Riyadh is a big disappointment for us, I know that what I will say will not like the fans, but we do not provide the necessary level offensively, and this is really unfortunate.”

Mahrez continued: “Personally, I am not completely satisfied with the level at which I appeared, and I admit that I did not provide what was required of me, but I desperately need the support of the fans in order to achieve our ambitions by the end of the current season.”

Mahrez noted that: “Now there are only 6 rounds separating us from the end of the Saudi league, and we must win all the remaining matches to ensure participation in the AFC Champions League next season.”

“I don’t want to talk too much about the referee, but the penalty he awarded to the opposition was never correct,” concluded the Algerian.
