Morocco is close to signing an agreement with India aimed at creating a local armored vehicle industry to strengthen the operational and logistical capabilities of the Royal Armed Forces.

According to the British “Independent” website, the goal of the partnership is the independence of the Kingdom of Morocco in the military industries and reduce dependence on foreign imports.

Morocco-India cooperation will also include providing Morocco with tactical equipment such as trucks suitable for desert conditions and high-precision radar systems.

Morocco is strengthening its cooperation with other countries such as Brazil, which has begun to form an important part of Rabat’s network of defense alliances.

Morocco is one of the world’s largest importers of arms (29th), the United States is the main supplier, and Rabat and Washington signed a ten-year military agreement (2020-2030) to strengthen the strategic defense partnership between the two countries.

It is noteworthy that the Moroccan defense budget for 2024 rose to $ 12.35 billion, a record increase of more than $ 389 million over previous years, and from 2016 to 2020, the Moroccan arms budget witnessed an escalation, moving from $ 6.24 billion in 2016 to $ 12.23 billion in 2020.
