A member of the Libyan Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received on Wednesday the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Libya, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Shehri, at the headquarters of the Presidential Council.
The talks focused on discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields.
Al-Lafi expressed, according to the media office of the Presidential Council, his appreciation for the role of Saudi Arabia in supporting the path of a peaceful solution to the political crisis in Libya.
Al-Lafi stressed that the Council continues to work to achieve consensus on the legal frameworks for holding electoral elections with the participation of all political parties, with the aim of achieving full stability in the country.
For his part, Al-Shehri praised the efforts of the Presidential Council in addressing the political impasse, and its support for the initiative of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy and the national reconciliation project. He stressed the Kingdom’s support for these efforts, with the aim of achieving stability and prosperity in Libya.
