The Libyan Air Force of the National Army conducted training sorties as part of the largest military exercises in years near the city of Sirte.
In addition to the fighter jets, ground forces participated in the exercises, including the Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade and the 106th and 166th Operations Brigades.
From time to time, the Libyan National Army (LNA), under the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, conducts exercises in various cities, especially Benghazi, especially those exercises that simulate different scenarios for terrorists entering the border and taking control of some cities.
These maneuvers come in light of the faltering political settlement in the country between East and West and the failure of the UN mission, led by Abdullah Batili, to provide tangible results to stabilize the country.
Libya is hit by a widespread security crisis, especially in the capital Tripoli, where armed clashes are occasionally witnessed in which dozens have been killed in settling scores between different armed factions.
