The US Special Envoy to Libya and its Ambassador Richard Norland discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan National Oil Corporation Farhat bin Qadara, the strategy to increase the production of the Corporation.

Following the meeting, the U.S. Embassy in Libya published a statement on Platform X, saying: “Yesterday was a good opportunity to discuss with NOC Chairman Bin Qadara the strategy for increasing production. Libya’s economic future depends on the energy sector and the NOC’s ability to maintain and grow production must be protected.”

“At the same time, we congratulate the National Oil Corporation for looking forward to a greener future and announcing at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) its new strategy to reduce carbon emissions,” the statement added.

“The United States looks forward to collaborating with the NOC to achieve our shared climate change goals,” the statement concluded.
