Lebanese authorities continue investigations in a shocking case related to the “TikTokers” gang, with the number of arrested suspects in this case rising to 10 people.
According to Lebanese media reports, the gang is suspected of committing rape and child exploitation to implicate them in drug use and promotion.
The Lebanese channel OTV reported that the tenth detainee is the owner of a digital currency exchange shop nicknamed “Sergio”.
The Advocate General of Appeal, Judge Tanios Al-Saghbini, wrote to the General Directorate of General Security requesting his statement on whether Hassan S., who was involved in the gang, was outside Lebanon and the date of his departure from Lebanese territory.
Al-Saghbini issued a search and investigation report and a subpoena against him on suspicion of involvement within the network after videos emerged showing him assaulting minors, in addition to audio recordings in which he appears to be blackmailing Paul M., known as “Jay”, who resides in Sweden, whose name is traded as the financier of the operation.
He called for the elimination of the heads and members of the gang, each according to the crime he committed, provided that preliminary investigations continue to uncover more of those involved, whether in Lebanon or abroad.
To date, nine arrests have been made of persons found to be involved in criminal acts involving children.
The Cybercrime Bureau arrested a taxi driver who was driving children from Beirut and other areas to a chalet in Keserwan, handed them over to gang officials who put them in a drink and raped them.
Investigations indicate that abused children live in difficult psychological conditions that need time to overcome and also need medical follow-up.
The judiciary is gathering information about the group’s driving and funding heads abroad in Turkey, Sweden, and other countries.
The number of arrests is expected to increase after new names are reached, especially with important information about the involvement of a lawyer with the gang in the luring and abuse of children, and the investigation continues to collect more evidence about them.
