“Euronews Arabia” announced the lava flow of Iceland’s volcano across the main road to Grendavik.
The images published by the channel showed that the lava flow began to slow down with the passage of hours, as the eruption of the volcano is the fourth and strongest in the last 4 months.
According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office, the volcano erupted for the fourth time since December, releasing orange lava, and the office warned of the possibility of an imminent eruption on the Reykjanice peninsula south of the capital Reykjavik.
The volcano has erupted seven times since 2021, when in early February it damaged roads and knocked out heating for more than 20,000 people.
In January, the volcano caused fire to several homes in southern Iceland, the most dangerous since the Eldville volcano in 1973, which destroyed homes and covered them with black ash.
Iceland has more than 30 active volcanoes, making it a major destination for volcano lovers and thrill-seekers in Northern Europe.
