Eid al-Fitr prayers were held today at the Great Mosque “Friday Mosque” in Simferopol, the capital of the Russian Republic of Crimea, for the first time since its completion.
Crimean Mufti Amir Ali Ablayev, deputy head of the Crimean Muslim Religious Department, described holding Eid prayers in the mosque in the presence of thousands of believers as a “big event” for all Muslims on the peninsula.
It is noteworthy that the construction of the Friday Mosque began in 2017, in the south of Simferopol, and was opened to worshipers for the first-time last December, and its dome height is 28 meters, and the height of each of its four minarets is 50 meters.
