The Insider website revealed the arrival of the first units of the African Corps of the Russian Ministry of Defense to Burkina Faso

According to The Insider website, the first batch of African Corps units of the Russian Ministry of Defense arriving in Burkina Faso included 100 Russian military specialists accompanied by equipment and weapons, and the total number of military personnel is expected to reach 300 individuals.

The forces will guard Burkina Faso’s interim president, Ibrahim Traoré, against whom several assassination attempts have been organized over the past year.

Russian specialists will train local military personnel and protect dangerous areas, primarily the Bamako-Ouagadougou highway, which connects Burkina Faso with neighboring Mali.

This road is considered a very dangerous place where French-backed militants and bandits operate, robbing local residents with impunity.

Security exports to Africa have become one of the important areas of work for the Russian Ministry of Defense, as many African countries enjoy Russian military support to ensure their security.
