The Swedish city of Malmö witnessed a concert by the Lebanese artist Elissa, attended by about 30 thousand people from the Arab communities, which created a festive and exceptional atmosphere with which the audience interacted greatly.
The concert was held in the main square in Malmö, and turned into a spontaneous solidarity demonstration when Elissa raised the Palestinian keffiyeh after taking it from one of the attendees, and adorned herself with it in a touching moment that excited the audience and made the scene spread quickly on social media.
During the concert, Elissa expressed her support for the people of Gaza, pointing out the importance of joy even in the most difficult circumstances the world is experiencing. She appeared moved while singing “Bitmoun,” where she cried on stage to the applause of the audience. When she performed Fairuz’s song “Nasam Alayna Al Hawa,” she raised the Lebanese flag, which aroused the sympathy of the diverse audience from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iraq.
Local press reports said that the large attendance led to an internet outage due to the heavy pressure on the communication towers due to the live broadcast of the concert on social media platforms.
Elissa is expected to continue spreading her artistic and humanitarian messages in another concert scheduled to be held next Thursday in Stockholm, as part of the annual Stockholm Festival.
