Egypt expects to increase the volume of its digital exports by 30% to exceed $ 8 billion by the end of this year, compared to $ 6.2 billion last year.

An official at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), announced that the expected growth depends on the expansion of outsourcing services, which could reach $ 5.5 billion by the end of this year, compared to $ 3.7 billion last year.

Outsourcing exports have grown by 50%, and currently account for more than two-thirds of the country’s total digital exports, with the government’s policy to attract foreign investment playing a role in this expansion, and agreements have been signed with 74 international and local companies to establish 85 new outsourcing centers since November 2022.

Egypt also relies on the export of embedded software, which includes advanced software for cars and electrical appliances, and is among the most valuable services in the outsourcing sector.

On the other hand, the number of workers in the outsourcing sector in Egypt witnessed a strong increase, from 105,000 specialists at the end of 2022 to 130,000 specialists by the end of 2023, reflecting a growth of 24%.

Egypt is considered one of the leading countries in the field of outsourcing, to provide expertise or services agreed upon between two parties to a third party, as it ranked third globally as the most prominent global location in the outsourcing industry.

Egypt rose from eleventh place according to the Cross-Border Outsourcing Services Trust Index 2023 report issued by Ryan, a strategic consulting firm.

The data shows that Egypt is developing the outsourcing industry and aims to reach 550,000 specialists and provide services with an export value of up to $ 9 billion in 2026.
