A goalless draw overshadowed a friendly between Morocco and Mauritania, while Algeria drew 3-3 with hosts South Africa as part of the teams’ preparations for the upcoming international competitions.

Morocco and Mauritania failed to take advantage of the opportunities to end in a goalless draw, ahead of the resumption of African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Algeria drew with South Africa in a friendly match that saw an exchange of goals, with Azerbaijan’s Karabakh player Yassine Benzia leading Algeria before South Africa responded with two goals.

Despite Algeria’s draw in the second half, the South African scored a third before Benzea came back and scored twice to end the match in a 3-3 draw.

These friendly matches come within the framework of the preparations of the Arab and African teams for the upcoming continental qualifiers, as each team seeks to achieve the ideal performance and prepare its main strength to face the upcoming challenges on the way to qualifying for the final stage of the 2026 World Cup.
