The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense said that work is underway to develop a new military supply ship for the army, which can sail and provide other ships with ammunition in various weather conditions.

“At the Russian Vympel shipbuilding plant, the process of removing Vladimir Bialov’s ship from the manufacturing unit to the open assembly lane took place, where workers will complete the construction of the upper section of the ship’s hull, after which the ship will be prepared to be lowered into the water,” the service statement said.

The statement added: “Work is now underway to install large-sized equipment and devices in the ship, and painting and insulation works are carried out, and work is underway on the cargo holds in them.”

Work on the construction of this ship began in March 2018 within the framework of the government project 20360М, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Defense. Russia is developing ships dedicated to supplying war fits with ammunition, including missiles, torpedoes, artillery ammunition and machine guns.

The ship is 77 meters long, 16 meters wide, has a displacement of 3,700 tons, and can maneuver in a distinctive way thanks to its special guidance systems and turbines.
