Conjoined twins have revealed their incredibly unique lifestyle after questions rushed by social media users.
Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade, 23, posted a video viewed more than 9.8 million times on their TikTok account, in which they answered their followers’ questions, some of which were sensitive and very private.
The twins moved to the United States from Mexico when they were two years old, sharing organs and limbs below the waist and cannot be separated by surgery.
The twins confirmed that they are now in good shape, but they share some unusual effects as a result of the adhesion of body parts, with Carmen saying: “If one of us is tired, it doesn’t have to be that we are both tired, because we have two separate minds one can be awake and the other is asleep, we are two separate people.”
Carmen explained that they share the bloodstream, so sugar affects them, but they feel full at different rates because they have stomachs.
Carmen responded to some of the more difficult messages you receive from followers, including what will happen if one of them dies, explaining: “We share the bloodstream, so eventually the sepsis will begin, and obviously in a matter of hours or days the other person will die.”
Although there are challenges, the twins feel they are in full control of their lives, preserving their identity and individual rights, including personal matters such as identity, social security numbers and romantic relationships.
In the context of romantic relationships, Carmen confirmed that she had been dating her partner Daniel for three years, reminding her followers that he is only dating her, not with Lupetia, and explained that both suffer from endometriosis and pelvic pain.
Carmen revealed that she met him via a dating app in 2020, saying, “I never tried to hide the fact that I am a conjoined twin, which means I received a lot of messages from men with strange tendencies,” adding that she immediately knew that Daniel, asexual, was different from other men.
The twins also spoke of the possibility of starting a family one day, revealing that they are unable to have children.
