Al Hilal Saudi Club entered the Guinness Book of Records with the longest consecutive winning streak (34 matches) in the history of football.
The registration of the crescent number was announced during the team’s celebrations of winning the Saudi “Roshn” league title for the 2023-2024 season, which was held at the “Kingdom Arena” stadium in the capital, Riyadh, on Friday evening.
The representative of the Guinness Book handed over the certificate to Fahd bin Nafel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hilal, in the presence of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.
The Saudi team, nicknamed “The Leader”, achieved the longest winning streak in history with 34 consecutive wins in all competitions, during the period from September 25, 2023 to April 11, 2024.
Al Hilal have won 20 league matches, 9 AFC Champions Leagues, 3 King’s Cups, and two Saudi Super Cups.
It is noteworthy that by achieving this record, Al Hilal surpassed the previous record recorded in the name of the Welsh team New Saints, which achieved 27 consecutive victories in 2016.
Al Hilal’s winning streak this season was halted after losing to Al Ain in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-finals by four goals to two last April.
