A soldier died and another was injured after a military helicopter crashed during a landing maneuver in Gafsa Governorate south of the country.
The helicopter, which was carrying out a pre-determined mission, witnessed a painful tragedy that led to the death of its pilot and the injury of his colleague, who is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital in Gafsa, and his condition was described as stable.
The spokesman for the Tunisian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Al-Zakri, stressed the seriousness of the incident, noting that it was not the first of its kind.
Tunisia has witnessed a series of military helicopter crashes in the past, especially in the governorates of Bizerte and Gibes, where several soldiers died in similar accidents during training or reconnaissance missions in previous years.
