A high-level of Russian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov is scheduled to arrive in Sudan on Sunday for a two-day visit.
According to Al-Sharq newspaper, the visit aims to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis.
The talks are expected to cover multiple topics addressing the crisis political situation and existing military tensions, as part of Russia’s ongoing efforts to mediate the Sudanese crisis.
The visit is part of Russia’s efforts to resolve the conflict between the army and the RSF that erupted in April last year, as military and civilian parties close to concluding consultations to form a civilian government.
The visit also comes in the wake of statements by Russia’s ambassador in Khartoum, Andrei Chernovol, about Sudan’s failure to complete the ratification procedures for the agreement to establish a Russian naval base in Port Sudan.
