A major fundraising campaign has begun in Mauritania to help Gazans through iftar convoys and the opening of camps to house the displaced.
The Mauritanian National Ribat in Support of the Palestinian People and the Mauritanian Islamic Forum are responsible for the largest part of the Ramadan relief activity for the people in Gaza.
The campaign comes despite the economic crisis that Mauritanians are experiencing due to high prices and inflation, with statistics estimating that 56.9% of Mauritania’s population lives in multidimensional poverty.
