Seventeen Moroccan passengers tried to flee Rome’s Fiumicino airport after an emergency landing.

The plane was flying from Istanbul to Tangier when the captain had to divert to Rome due to a heart attack involving a passenger.

Italian security services intercepted the young Moroccans immediately after landing and checked the details of all passengers, including young Moroccans, before allowing the plane to resume its flight to Tangier.

There have been similar cases previously, where 28 Moroccan passengers tried to escape from a plane coming from Casablanca after an emergency landing in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2022.

In November 2021, a group of Moroccan passengers managed to escape from a plane flying from Casablanca to Istanbul after making an emergency landing at Palma de Mallorca airport.
