The organizers of the Petersburg International Economic Forum announced that nearly 17 thousand people and 3.4 thousand media representatives have confirmed their participation in the economic event scheduled for next week.

The “Ros congress” Foundation, which is responsible for organizing the forum, stated, quoting Anton Kobyakov, advisor to the Russian president and executive secretary of the organizing committee, that the participants represent 136 countries and regions.

Kobyakov pointed to the importance of the Forum by saying: “The Forum is now one of the sovereign centers of global development, and it plays a unique historical role in maintaining the global balance of power, building a multipolar international system, and providing appropriate conditions for development on the basis of a unified and constructive agenda dictated by national interests.”

The sessions will revolve around topics such as “Transition to a Multipolar Model of the Global Economy,” “Financial Literacy as an Engine for the Country’s Economic Development,” “Digital Trade and Banking,” and “Global Food Security Issues.”

The forum is an effective platform for exchanging opinions and experiences between policymakers, officials and representatives of the business sector from various countries of the world, where the main economic issues and challenges facing Russia, emerging markets and the world as a whole are discussed.

The forum will witness the presence of a large number of prominent figures in the economic and political field, in addition to organizing many side events that include discussion panels and workshops aimed at enhancing international cooperation and finding innovative solutions to current economic challenges.

It is also expected that a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed between participating companies and countries, which will strengthen the forum’s position as a major platform for innovation and strategic partnerships at the international level.

In this context, the head of the Italian Businessmen Association in Russia stated that about 15 Italian businessmen intend to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum this year without announcing this.

Vittorio Torrembini said in an interview with the “Novoset” agency, “Italian businessmen prefer not to disclose their presence at the Petersburg Forum and hold their meetings there in secret.”

The 27th edition of the Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held this year from June 5 to 8, with the Sultanate of Oman participating as a guest of honor for the first time.
