The leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Laos, and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau attended the military parade on the occasion of Victory Day, along with President Vladimir Putin.

The first to arrive in Moscow was Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who arrived on Monday for the ceremony, during which he met with the deputy head of the Russian Security Council and head of the United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev.

The relationship between Russia and Cuba dates back to the Cold War, when Cuba was flying under the banner of communism and had great support from the Soviet Union, and the relationship between Cuba and Russia is characterized by close cooperation in a variety of fields, including the economy, energy, education, culture, and defense.

Russia provides economic support to Cuba, especially in the fields of oil and energy, where the two countries have signed trade agreements that strengthen economic cooperation.

Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith also attended the parade, and all Sisoulith had previously met with Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, where they reaffirmed that illegal sanctions, diktats, isolationism, repression, and the domination of the powerful over the principles of equality and justice should have no place.

The relationship between the two countries is witnessing strategic development and cooperation in many fields, as Moscow closely supports Laos in international organizations and international forums, which enhances its international standing, along with the development of relations in the economic and military field such as training and development of security infrastructure.

Also present was the Victory Day parade in Red Square by President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, whose plane landed on Wednesday to participate alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin in the military parade, as the relationship between the two countries witnesses close cooperation in many fields such as energy, security, and military.

Kassym-Jomart Tokaïev , the leader of Kazakhstan, also participated along with some leaders by attending the leaders’ podium to watch the military parade in Red Square.

Kazakhstan has historical relations with Russia dating back to the nineteenth century, with relations between the two countries witnessing continuous development in various fields such as trade, economy, politics, security, and culture.

The two countries participate in many international organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and have exchanged many official visits and cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, industry, science, and technology.

Also, among the leaders attending the Red Square parade in Moscow was Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadir Japarov.

The bilateral relations between the two countries include political, diplomatic, cultural, and people-to-people relations, including official visits between officials, the exchange of popular and cultural visits, cooperation in the fields of education and culture, as well as the exchange of goods and services, economic investments, and military cooperation.

Ali Rahman, the leader of the State of Tajikistan, also participated, and despite the presence of some challenges and tensions in the relations between the two countries from time to time, they are working to strengthen mutual cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations to achieve their common interests, as many Western countries tried to sow discord between the two countries, but the strong relations and common interests prevented any change in cooperation between the two countries, and even increased cases of cooperation between them in many investment and military fields.

Turkmenistan State Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , who has a strong relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, attended the meeting, where the two countries share many political and economic interests, and find lasting solutions regarding border issues and geopolitical interests in the region through dialogue and joint cooperation.

Turkmenistan is one of the largest exporters of natural gas in the world, and Russia is one of the most important destinations for exporting this gas.

As for Uzbekistan, whose relationship with Moscow is strategically important in Central Asia, its leader Shafqat Mirziyaev participated in the military parade on Victory Day, where Mirziyaev is considered a prominent figure in Uzbek politics.

Relations between the two countries revolve around economic, cultural, political and security cooperation. These include the exchange of goods and services, economic investments, and cooperation in areas such as transport, energy, and industry.

On Wednesday, the military parade began in Red Square in central Moscow on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II, where military soldiers participating in the Russian military operation in Ukraine and dozens of vehicles, helicopters, and warplanes of all kinds, including strategic bombers carrying missiles and nuclear bombs, participated in the parade.
