The director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced the cancellation of the mission the organization was leading to provide medical aid in Gaza, due to security concerns.

“The situation in Gaza after a hundred days of war cannot be described,” he said, explaining that “the provision of humanitarian aid in Gaza still faces insurmountable challenges.”

The official pointed out that nearly 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip has been displaced, pointing out that many of them have been displaced several times.

On the other hand, the British newspaper “Telegraph” spoke of the increasing hunger in Gaza in light of the continuation of the Israeli attack and the blockade on the Gaza Strip, since the seventh of October 2023.

The newspaper reported that hunger “turns children in Gaza into skeletons.” With malnutrition rates on the rise, experts fear that an entire generation could be at risk of “delayed growth”, and that many have spent days without food, while others have eaten no more than half of a piece of bread or a box of beans, which they shared with many family members.
