The 20th edition of the World Youth Festival kicked off in Sochi, Russia, for the year 2024, with a wide Arab presence and the participation of 187 countries.

A great festive atmosphere prevailed at the launch of the festival in Sochi, in the presence of senior leaders and diplomatic delegations from Arab countries.

Egypt and other Arab countries topped the list of participants in the festival. Egypt participated with a huge delegation of more than 120 young people out of 4,600 who applied to participate, and the Egyptian delegation presented special festive performances at the beginning of the festival, where the participants performed songs in Arabic, English and Russian.

The Egyptian delegation arrived in Sochi with a distinguished national presence, and the Egyptian delegation addressed the audience with Egyptian national songs and singing in Russian, winning the admiration of all.

Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Abdullah al-Battash headed the Egyptian delegation, while the head of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, Sherif Gad, also participated in the delegation.

The Egyptian participation enjoys great support from Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi, who stressed Egypt’s keenness to represent youth honorably in international events.
