The security authorities in the Libyan city of Sabha announced the seizure of a large quantity of heavy weapons, including missiles and automatic rifles, in addition to huge quantities of ammunition and explosive devices.
This operation took place during a raid by the Criminal Investigation Department on a local liquor factory that was originally a house.
The Sabha Security Directorate revealed in a video published on its official Facebook page that the factory that was searched had been transformed into a den for storing weapons and ammunition, becoming something like a real arsenal.
The video that revealed the weapons showed a large quantity of gunpowder, gasoline and wires that were used in manufacturing weapons and explosive devices.
The authorities reported that the operation came as part of the efforts of the Security Room in Sabha to combat dens of crime and corruption.
A security officer participating in the operation indicated that the Criminal Investigation Department and the Sabha Security Directorate received information that a person had turned his home into an unlicensed factory for local liquor.
The security force headed to the site and was surprised to find a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
Everyone in the house was arrested and all the seized items were confiscated, in a move that confirms the authorities’ commitment to combating illegal activities and enhancing security and stability in the region.
