The Libyan capital, Tripoli, witnessed a renewal of armed confrontations between groups from the cities of Zawiya and Zintan, where clashes broke out as a result of old tensions between the two sides.

The armed confrontations turned into violent battles that included several areas within the city, with no confirmed reports of deaths yet.

The differences between these factions vary and include political factors, as many of them seek to control sites in the city. They are divided into different movements, some of which tend to represent the interests of specific regions, which leads to conflicts among them.

The Zawiya Martyrs Brigade is deployed in Al-Zawiya, which is one of the most prominent armed groups present, and it also includes the Al-Samoud Brigade and the Al-Wafa Group, which are mainly based in the port area, in addition to smaller armed groups distributed in different regions and whose affiliations and loyalties constantly change.

As for Zintan, there is the Zintan Brigade, which is considered the most prominent, in addition to the Victory Brigade, the Army of Islam, and other armed groups.
